Upper Lars checkpoint remains closed for trucks

ArmInfo. The Upper Lars checkpoint has opened for passenger cars, but remains closed for heavy vehicles.

This was reported by the Rescue Service of the Ministry of Internal  Affairs of Armenia.

The road to the checkpoint is the only land route connecting Armenia  through Georgia with the Russian Federation.

The Rescue Service noted that there are also closed and impassable  roads in Armenia. In particular, the roads leading from the  high-mountain weather station "Amberd" to Lake Kari and to the Amberd  fortress remain closed.

The Berd-Chambarak highway is also closed for all types of vehicles.  The Vardenyats Pass is closed for trucks with trailers and is  impassable for other vehicles.

The roads to the villages of Noravan-Ltsen,  Syunik-Shinuayr-Tatev-Goris, as well as the section called "Vardani  Dzor" on the Meghri-Kajaran road are difficult to pass for trucks  with trailers.

It is snowing on the Alagyaz-Artik roads, and in some places in the  settlements of the Gegharkunik and Syunik regions there is black ice.
