ArmInfo.Armenia's Urban Development Committee, the Asian Development Bank (ADB) and the South Korean Ministry of Economy and Finance are launching the Armenia Green Urbanization Project to advance energy efficiency in buildings.
The launch of the program was marked by the signing of a trilateral memorandum of understanding, as reported by the press service of the Urban Development Committee.
According to the source, the Korean Eximbank will provide a $300,000 grant for the implementation of the project under the Knowledge Transfer program. Additionally, Korean experts will be involved to study the green urban development in Armenia, identify existing energy efficiency issues in buildings, highlight areas for improvement, and provide practical proposals. Based on the study results, a comprehensive report will be prepared.
The Committee reported that the signing of the memorandum was followed by discussions with representatives from the Ministries of Environment, Territorial Administration and Infrastructure of Armenia. The main activities envisaged within the framework of the program were presented. In particular, it is planned to conduct a comprehensive assessment of Armenia's green construction sector, analyze the current legislative and regulatory documents.
