ArmInfo. On March 11, the Board of the Eurasian Economic Commission decided to create a working group to implement a pilot project on the use of electronic international transport consignment notes e-CMR in international road freight transport in the countries of the Eurasian Economic Union.
As reported by the press service of the EEC, the working group will include representatives of authorized bodies of the EAEU countries in the field of transport, digitalization, tax and customs regulation, as well as the business community, scientific organizations and industry associations.
The head of the expert platform is the Minister of Energy and Infrastructure of the EEC Arzybek Kozhoshev. "Today we have taken another step towards the transition to legally significant electronic document management in the field of road transport. The working group will determine the timing and procedure for the pilot project on the use of electronic international transport consignment notes in the EAEU, and will also work out practical issues of its implementation," the minister noted. The main goal of the project is to ensure practical testing of the technology of cross-border exchange of electronic documents between entities of different states using digital signature and "trusted third party" mechanisms.
The pilot project will help speed up the processes of obtaining and verifying transport documents, as well as reduce costs in the implementation of transport, logistics and control and supervision procedures.
The meeting of the working group is planned to be held in the second quarter of 2025.
