ArmInfo. On March 19, Yerevan Mayor Tigran Avinyan received a delegation from the Asian Development Bank, led by ADB Director General for Central and West Asia, Yevgeny Zhukov.
As reported by the press service of the Mayor's Office, the meeting highlighted the effective cooperation between the capital's administration and the ADB as a strong foundation for implementing new projects.Tigran Avinyan noted that in addition to current programs, the Yerevan Municipality has a significant package of new projects with the ADB. These projects will an important investment in the city's prosperous and sustainable future through infrastructure modernization and "green" initiatives.
The parties also discussed the progress of the implementation of the "Sustainable Urban Development Investment Program." The interlocutors assured that, despite some delays from the originally planned deadlines, every effort will be made to begin construction of the Isakov-Arshakunyats road section this year.Yerevan's priorities include acquiring 250 new electric buses, reconstructing the depot, establishing a forest park on an area of about 230 hectares in the Dalma Gardens, reconstructing Noragyugh, modernizing the metro and constructing the Tbilisi Highway-Yeghvard road section.
Yevgeny Zhukov emphasized that the Yerevan Municipality is a reliable partner for the bank and is ready to provide support in the implementation of new projects.
