
ArmInfo. Armenia and the UAE are exploring the potential for developing cooperation in the medical and ski tourism industries.
As reported by the press service of the Ministry of Economy, this was stated during the meeting of the Minister of Economy of Armenia, Gevorg Papoyan, with the UAE Ambassador to Armenia, Nariman Al- Mulla. Minister Papoyan told the Ambassador that Armenia is interested in attracting foreign investment in the hotel sector in both Yerevan and various regions of Armenia, as this could significantly enhance tourism development in the country. He also highly appreciated the strong economic cooperation formed between Armenia and the UAE, particularly in recent years. The parties discussed the possibilities of expanding cooperation between the two countries in the economic sphere, as well as strengthening business ties through meetings in various formats.
It should be noted that according to the RA Statistical Committee, in 2024, foreign trade turnover between Armenia and the UAE saw a 2.3 increase, reaching $5.3 billion. Exports also grew by 2.4 times, totaling $5.2 billion, while imports increased by 12% to $82.3 million. In 2024, 7,539 tourists from the UAE visited Armenia, a 2.5% decrease compared to the previous year.
