Armenia`s metallurgical industry shifted from annual growth to double-digit decrease

ArmInfo. In January-February 2025, Armenia's metallurgical industry  reduced production volumes by 26% per annum (compared to a 37% growth the previous year).  This is evidenced by  data from the RA Statistical Committee.

The production of copper concentrate in Armenia decreased by 29.7% per annum (compared to a 52.7% growth the previous year), totaling 37 thousand tons.  The volume of molybdenum concentrate  decreased by 34.9% per annum (compared to a 5.7% growth the previous year), amounting to 2,004.5 thousand tons. Ferromolybdenum production also declined, with an annual growth rate slowing from 42% to 31.2%, totaling 535.3 tons.  Aluminum foil production saw a decline as well, with an annual growth rate slowing from 36.1% to 4.3%, amounting to 3,027.2 thousand tons.  On the other hand, zinc concentrate production accelerated in annual growth from 5.2% to 20.8%, amounting to 1,942 thousand tons. And the production of steel pipes, hollow sections and fittings slowed in annual growth from 60.9% to 9.6%, amounting to 3,547.8 thousand tons.  All metals produced in Armenia are exported, mainly to Europe and the United States.
