In 2024,unemployment rate in Armenia increased from 12.4% to 13.9%

ArmInfo. The unemployment rate in Armenia in 2024 increased from 12.4% to 13.9%. According to  data from the RA Statistical Committee, the indicator for the reporting year is preliminary.

According to the source, during the reporting year, the number of employed population amounted to 1,168.4 million people (with an annual decline of 3.4%), and the number of unemployed was 187.9 thousand people (with an annual growth of 12.7%).  As of February 2025. 1,044 people were looking for work, with 615 being women and 429 being men.  As of March 1, 2025, employer demand for labor decreased by 26.2% annually to 2,474 people, and the load per 1 vacant position increased by 15.8% annually to 22 people.  At the same time, 629 citizens managed to find employment by March 2025, which is 31.3% lower than the figure for the previous year, or 1.1% of the total number of citizens looking for work. Out of those employed, 329 were women (an annual decline of 24.6%), and 237 were men (an annual decline of 40%).
