ArmInfo. In the Tavush region, in the village of Achajur, work is underway to create a refrigeration logistics center with the support of the UN World Food Program (WFP). As reported by the press service of the Ministry of Economy, this became known following the visit of the Deputy Head of the department Arman Khojoyan and the head of the Armenian office of the UN WFP Nanna Skaun to the village of Achajur. The center provides for storage, processing and supplies from economic entities of the region. Thus, its activities will ensure the entire chain - from production to processing.
The work on the creation of the refrigeration logistics center is scheduled to be completed in the fall of 2025. According to the source, during the visit, Khojoyan and Skaun met with the Deputy Governor of the Tavush region Narek Ghushchyan, with whom they discussed issues related to the development of agriculture in the region, state assistance programs and those implemented with the support of the UN WFP. It should be noted that earlier, referring to statistical data, Khojoyan reported that the Armenian agricultural sector in 2024 demonstrated growth of 1.6% per annum, taking into account fish farming, the growth was 1.9%. Gross agricultural output together with fish farming exceeded AMD 1 trillion.
