ArmInfo. RA Finance Minister Vahe Hovhannisyan received a delegation led by Iva Petrova, head of the International Monetary Fund (IMF) mission in Armenia, as part of the summing up of the 5th review of the IMF reserve program.
As reported by the press service of the Ministry of Finance, during the meeting the Minister touched upon the details of the implementation of the structural control indicators established within the framework of the Reserve Program, implemented with the support of the International Monetary Fund.
The parties also discussed a number of important issues related to the draft Memorandum , and Hovhannisyan presented to his colleagues the considerations and proposals of the RA Ministry of Finance regarding the draft.
The parties emphasized the importance of the Reserve Program in the implementation of monetary and structural reforms, highly appreciating the continuity of bilateral cooperation and ensuring further effective implementation of the program.
The Republic of Armenia became a member of the IMF on April 28, 1992. In October last year, following an IMF mission to Armenia from 18 September to 1 October 2024 and subsequent discussions, a working agreement was reached on the fourth review of the three-year IMF-supported Reserve Arrangement. The review was approved by the IMF Executive Board in December 2025, making $24.5 million (SDR 18.4 million) available to the country, bringing the total available funds to $122.7 million (SDR 92 million). The program is precautionary in nature, with borrowed funds aimed at meeting the economy's external financing needs arising from potential future shocks.
