ArmInfo. Since 2018, Armenia's pension fund has grown by more than 233 billion drams or more than 500 million dollars. The minimum pension has doubled - from 18 to 36 thousand drams, and the average pension - by 22.3% (about 50 thousand drams). At the same time, the number of pensioners has increased by 125,000 people - to 650,000. This was stated by Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan on April 15 in parliament during the discussion of the report on the implementation of the RA government program for 2024.
In addition, since July 1, 2022, under the system of refunding funds for non-cash transactions to pensioners (cashback accrued to pensioners and persons receiving benefits when paying by bank card, in the amount of 12% of purchases, but not more than 6 thousand drams - ed.), about 290 thousand beneficiaries have been refunded 19.9 billion drams, of which about 18 billion drams from the state treasury.
Earlier the program of refunding funds for non-cash transactions to pensioners and persons receiving benefits when paying by bank card was carried out jointly with commercial banks on equal terms (5% each commercial banks and the same amount from the RA government), but since January 1, 2024, financing is fully carried out by the RA government.
