ArmInfo. The first domestic satellite of Armenia, Armsat-1, developed by the Bazoomq Space Research Laboratory and the Center for Scientific Innovation and Education, crossed the Karman line (the conventional boundary of space at an altitude of 100 km) for the last time and completed its mission. This is stated in the official message of the laboratory on its Facebook page.
"We are deeply proud of Armsat-1 and thank everyone who supported this historic mission. This is just the beginning," Bazoomq noted.
The laboratory explained that the entry of our satellite into orbit, like all satellites orbiting close to the Earth, occurred faster than expected due to the record activity of the Sun in these years, which caused the atmosphere to heat up even more and increase resistance.
has fulfilled its mission and provided us with valuable information and experience that will allow us to move forward to larger and more ambitious goals>, - the statement says.
The Armenian media reported that the Anti-Corruption Committee had opened a criminal case on the fact of abuses within the framework of the project. However, the minister of the relevant department did not confirm this information, but stated that the satellite was operating normally and he had no information about the initiation of a criminal case. Let us recall that on May 25, 2022, the first Armenian satellite was successfully launched from Cape Canaveral into low-Earth orbit. The launch was organized by the Spanish company SATLANTIS. On June 6, SATLANTIS announced the conclusion of an agreement for the supply of a complete Earth observation system to the Armenian subsidiary of the RA Ministry of High-Tech Industry "Geocosmos"
