ArmInfo. A civil action with the participation of victims of financial fraud is being held in front of the building of the Central Bank of Armenia.
Earlier, the victims held several actions in front of the buildings of various departments, including the Investigative Committee, the Prosecutor General's Office, as well as in front of the buildings of those banks, in whose accounts, according to the participants of the action, fraudulent activities were committed. In particular, the protesters pointed out that some commercial banks issued loans to which citizens had no relation. Cases of theft of funds from bank accounts are also indicated.
As one of the participants of the action told journalists, as a result of fraudulent operations, a number of citizens have debts of 8.10 million drams, or even more. He noted that all illegal credit obligations should be cancelled. Moreover, the Central Bank's proposals to solve the problem were also not taken into account. For example, one of the banks proposed in this regard to freeze credit obligations for 2 years, after which to reduce the interest rate from 24% to 12%, but the protesters do not agree with this initiative of the financial institution. The bank once again proposed to freeze credit obligations for five years, after which to begin to repay loans according to the schedule of 12%. "But the problem is that citizens do not have any contracts for attracting a loan, and against this background, the fact that citizens should pay even on attractive, at first glance, terms looks strange," said the protester.
By the time the information was released, some active participants in the action were invited to the Central Bank with the intention of getting answers to their questions.
