On April 30, the Armenian Cabinet approved the bill <On Ratification of the Agreement between the Republic of Armenia and the Asian Development Bank on Provision of a Loan by the Asian Development Bank (ADB) for the Sustainable and Inclusive Road Sector Improvement Project> worth 236 million euros.
As Minister of Territorial Administration and Infrastructure David Khudatyan stated while presenting the draft decision, the loan agreement pertains to the reconstruction of the northern subsection, the total cost of which is 335 million euros. "Once the road is completed, the speed of traffic on this section will increase from the current 50 km/h to 100 km/h, which will reduce the travel time by up to 1-1.5 hours. The project is scheduled to be fully completed in November 2033," he said.
