ArmInfo. Entrepreneurs from Lyon are interested in investing in the real sector of Armenia, as well as in establishing mutually beneficial cooperation. This was reported by the press service of the Ministry of Economy, citing the results of the meeting of Minister of Economy Gevorg Papoyan with a delegation of Lyon entrepreneurs.
According to the source, Papoyan presented Armenia's investment policy, the legislative framework supporting investments, and the tools available to businesses. "Armenia is moving forward towards economic diversification and the development of several strategic sectors," he said. The head of the department emphasized that one of the priorities of the Ministry is to promote foreign investment by creating a more favorable, flexible and predictable business environment. "We are interested in close cooperation, especially with our French partners, and are ready to discuss the implementation of investment projects of mutual interest," Papoyan noted. The delegation's visit was initiated by the Armenian-French Chamber of Commerce and Industry (CCIFA).
Note that according to the RA Statistical Committee, in 2024, the net flow of total investments from France to the real sector of the Armenian economy totaled $28.5 million (11.3 billion drams), with an annual growth of 7.5%. Of this amount, about 65% or $18.5 million (7.3 billion drams) are FDI, having fallen by 23%. Investments from France, as before, are directed to the water sector, but this time half of the volume was allocated to the IT sector, which was previously not a focus for French investors. At the same time, investments from France in beverage production, energy projects, wholesale trade and the tourism industry declined, and there was no investment in retail trade.
