Investments totaling 4 billion 688.9 million drams are planned for the construction of the buildings of the National Center for Mental Health under the Ministry of Health of Armenia, 37.12% of which have already been invested, the press service of the Prime Minister reports. Pashinyan visited the Center, which was modernized within the framework of the Government's program for 2021-2026. Accompanied by the Minister of Health, he toured the center to get acquainted with the work being done.
It was noted that the modernization of the NCPH includes the reconstruction of 6 buildings, including psychiatric buildings, an administrative building, a kitchen building, etc. Currently, the construction and refurbishment of 3 buildings (the 1st psychiatric building, a kitchen building, a checkpoint), as well as a solar photovoltaic station have been completed. Also, improvement of the area near the constructed buildings has been implemented.
The 1st psychiatric building underwent major renovation with better seismic resilience, as well as being equipped with the necessary medical equipment, furniture and supplies. The technical equipment was provided by the Aznavour Foundation. The Foundation donated 131 million drams for the re-equipment and furnishing of the 1st psychiatric building and the kitchen.
