ArmInfo. The natural population growth rate in Armenia continues to decline significantly. This is evidenced by data from the RA Statistical Committee. In particular, in the first quarter of 2025, 7,302 children were born in the country, which is 8.8% lower than the previous year. The birth rate per 1,000 inhabitants for the reporting period was 9.6 per mille, compared to 10.8 per mille a year earlier.
During the same period, 7,121 people died in Armeni, which is 2.3% higher than the previous year. The death rate in the country remained at 9.4 per mille, the same as the previous year. According to statistics for the first quarter of 2025, the natural population growth was 181 people, a decrease of 82.6% compared to the previous year. The natural population growth rate for the reporting period was 0.2 per thousand, down from 1.4 per thousand a year earlier.
