ArmInfo.The state intends to compensate 40% of farmers' costs for the installation of anti-hail nets in all communities of Armenia. This was stated by the Minister of Economy of Armenia Gevorg Papoyan. He notedg that the relevant bill had received a positive conclusion at a meeting of the commission and will likely be approved at the next government meeting.
Papoyan also mentioned that, in line with the Prime Minister's directives, efforts are being made to enhance the agricultural insurance system. This will enable insurance companies to participate more confidently in the program. Recall that a few days earlier, the Minister of Economy reported that hail in early May had damaged crops in 20 villages of Armenia. The damage to fruit crops is estimated at 30%, and to vegetables at 50-60%.
