Number of jobs up in all sectors of Armenia`s economy - minister 

ArmInfo.  According to data for the first quarter of 2025, 782,100 jobs are registered in Armenia. This was stated by the Minister of Economy Gevorg Papoyan in an interview with the First TV Channel of Armenia. Moreover, in March alone, the annual growth was recorded at 7.8%.

According to him, the dynamics of job growth in Armenia has been recorded since 2021. Moreover, an increase in the number of employees is observed in almost all areas. Thus, Papoyan reported that in the retail sector during the reporting period, the number of new jobs increased by 6 thousand, in the software development sector - by 1.2 thousand, in the construction sector (both public and private) - by  about 4.4 thousand, in catering - by 1.8 thousand, in the healthcare sector - by 2.4 thousand, in the financial sector - by 1.2 thousand jobs.

At the same time, wages in the financial sector, on average,  according to him, increased by more than 33%, in healthcare, the gaming business, and catering - from 3 to 5%, but wages in clothing production decreased by 10%, in construction - by 3.5%, and in retail trade - by 2.6%.

In other areas, no changes were registered. The Minister also noted that if we compare March of this year with March 2024, the number of employees receiving a salary of up to 150 thousand drams decreased by 0.1%. This class of workers accounts for almost 50% of the labor market. The number of employees receiving a salary of over 150 thousand drams increased by 8.2%, reaching 326,375. At the same time,  over the year, the number of specialists in the country whose salary is 2 million drams and above increased by 1.7 thousand people. If in the first quarter of 2024. In 2015, there were 75 thousand registered employees in Armenia receiving salaries from 500 thousand to 2 million drams, but as of the reporting period, their number increased to 89.4 thousand. It should be noted that according to the RA Statistical Committee, the unemployment rate in Armenia for 2024 increased from 12.4% to 13.9%. According to the source, during the reporting year, the number of employed population amounted to 1,168.4 million people (with an annual decline of 3.4%), and the number of  unemployed was 187.9 thousand people (with an annual growth of 12.7%).
