ArmInfo. Armenia is considering implementing AWS (Amazon Web Services) Outposts, which will ensure the stability of the regional cloud. This was reported by the press service of the Ministry of High-Tech Industry of Armenia, citing the results of the meeting of the head of the department Mkhitar Hayrapetyan with the vice president and chief cloud officer of the world's leading cloud computing company AWS Jeff Barr.
In this vein, representatives of AWS emphasized the high demand from the public and private sectors.
In addition, during the meeting, the parties discussed a number of issues related to the activation of the Kuiper project (an Amazon project aimed at deploying a global satellite Internet network - Ed.).
It is reported that Jeff Barr highly appreciated the results of cooperation at various levels with Armenia and confirmed his readiness to provide ongoing support to the RA government.
According to the press service of the Ministry, the purpose of the meeting was to strengthen ongoing cooperation, promote Armenia's digital transformation strategy, introduce AWS infrastructures in Armenia, and expand cooperation in the field of cloud services.
