Gevorg Papoyan: In 2024, Armenia`s exports to EAEU  increased  significantly compared to 2021

ArmInfo. In 2024, Armenia's exports to the EAEU increased by 1.7 times excluding non re-exported goods, and by 38 times including re-exported goods, compared to 2021. Armenian Minister of Economy Gevorg Papoyan  announced this  during a panel discussion at the Astana International Forum.

He noted that such indicators were achieved, in part, thanks to a strategic focus on diversifying foreign economic relations and  expanding partnerships with various countries and regions, including, of course, first of all, the countries within the Eurasian Economic Union.

And today we see three main priority areas where the potential for cooperation is particularly high. These areas are infrastructure integration, innovation and human capital, energy and sustainable transformation>, Papoyan noted. In discussing these areas, the Minister recalled that the Armenian government is currently working on the Crossroads of Peace project, which  aims to transform the country into an economically competitive transport and logistics hub  that connects the North, South, East and West.

He noted that the peace treaty with Azerbaijan and the opening of the border with Turkey will play a special role in implementing this initiative. These actions  will enhance regional connectivity and give a new impetus to trade in the region. He pointed out that Armenia is actively involved in the Creation of a common energy space within the EAEU, including the Development of infrastructure and advanced technologies. The Minister added that Armenia is gradually expanding the share of renewable energy, actively investing in energy efficiency, and so on.

, he concluded.
