Armenia and Russia see untapped potential in health and wellness tourism, as stated during a meeting between Lusine Gevorgyan, the head of the Tourism Committee of Armenia, and Minister of Economic Development of the Russian Federation, Maxim Reshetnikov. The meeting took place as part of the Tourism Council of the CIS member states.
As reported by the press service of the Committee, the parties also addressed existing issues in the tourism sector, including those related to tourist buses, and explored possible solutions. Gevorgyan and Reshetnikov agreed to collaborate closely to enhance cooperation in the tourism sector and achieve common goals. According to the source, they highlighted the importance of conducting joint marketing campaigns.
Note that according to the RA Statistical Committee, in Q1 2025, Armenia welcomed 144,072 tourists from Russia, a 21.8% decrease from the previous year.
