
ArmInfo. In Armenia, electricity generation in January-April 2025 increased by 4.9% per annum (against a 1.8% increase a year ago), amounting to 3,333.6 million kWh. At the same time, in April alone, electricity generation decreased by 15.5% - to 708 million kWh. This is evidenced by the data of the RA Statistical Committee.
According to the source, in January-April 2025, compared to the same period in 2024, only hydroelectric power plants increased their production volumes - by 27.8% to 774.51 million kWh. Thermal power plants, on the contrary, reduced electricity generation by 7.9% - to 994 million kWh, the Armenian Nuclear Power Plant - by 7.3% to 1,156.7 million kWh.
Solar power plants increased their electricity generation by 67.1% per annum, providing a volume of 408.5 million kWh. Wind power plants produced 0.3 million kWh of electricity during the reporting period, which is 52.2% lower than the figure for the previous year.
