ArmInfo. Next year, Armenia will host the prestigious international wine competition Concours Mondial de Bruxelles (CMB). This announcement was made in Yinchuan, China, where CMB -2025 took place. The event was attended by the Minister of Economy of Armenia, Gevorg Papoyan, and the head of the Vine and Wine Foundation (VWFA), Zaruhi Muradyan. In 2026, over 400 guests from various countries of the world will come to Armenia, including wine experts, sommeliers, buyers, importers, journalists, bloggers, teachers, etc.
In his welcoming speech, Minister Papoyan highlighted that the winemaking industry in Armenia is undergoing a revival, and Armenian winemakers are skillfully blending traditions and innovations, incorporating the latest technologies and scientific approaches.
The Concours Mondial de Bruxelles is the largest international platform where more than 370 professional judges from different countries taste about 7,500 red and white wines from 49 countries. The competition, which has been around for about 30 years, is held every year in countries that are important in wine production, promoting international recognition of local products. In recent years, this competition has been hosted by the Czech Republic, Luxembourg, Spain, Italy, France, Croatia, and Mexico.
Note that according to the RA Statistical Committee, wine production in Armenia decreased by 38.8%, in the first 4 months of 2025, totaling 1.8 million liters.
