ArmInfo. Armenian Minister of Economy Gevorg Papoyan received a delegation led by Alexander Timan, the newly appointed head of the International Monetary Fund (IMF) mission in Armenia.
The parties discussed the economic priorities of the Armenian government and the most promising areas of cooperation with the IMF in this context. They exchanged views took place on the diversification of markets in Armenia, the current status of the export strategy, investment policy, development of capital markets, intensification of agriculture, and Armenia's positioning in foreign markets.
The interlocutors also discussed major investment programs, including the Amulsar project for the exploitation of a gold mine, the construction of a solar power station by the Emirati company Masdar, and the establishment of an industrial zone in Gyumri. The meeting was also attended by the IMF Resident Representative in Armenia, Umang Rawat, and Deputy Minister of Economy Anushik Avetyan.
