ArmInfo. Armenia has proposed to the Georgian side a mechanism for work together to conduct an examination of cognac products that are under suspicion. Minister of Economy of Armenia Gevorg Papoyan announced this during the government session in Parliament, while responding to questions from deputies.
Referring to Georgia's explanations for their actions, he noted that the Georgian side is conducting an examination due to suspicions about the authenticity of the alcoholic products. However, Papoyan pointed out that only the receiving country has the right to do so, as, not the transit state, which in this case is Georgia.

Currently, employees of the Food Safety Inspectorate are undergoing appropriate training to obtain certificates and conduct these examinations. Regarding the situation, he noted that as a result of negotiations, 61 vehicles with Armenian cognac products have been released from the Gezi terminal in Tbilisi. Yesterday, the Georgian side promised to allow another 50 cargo carriers through. As of now, Papoyan reported that 33 vehicles have already left for Upper Lars.
