ArmInfo. Armenian Minister of Economy Gevorg Papoyan presented the results of his visit to Tbilisi.
The official recalled on his Facebook page that he and the Chairman of the State Revenue Committee of Armenia, Eduard Hakobyan, were sent to Tbilisi by Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan's decision. "During the visit, we met with the First Vice Prime Minister of Georgia, Minister of Economy and Sustainable Development Levan Davitashvili, Minister of Agriculture and Environment David Songulashvili, as well as with the head of the State Revenue Service, Irakli Beraia.
As a result of high-level negotiations, an agreement was reached on the release of 55 trucks loaded with Armenian cognac from the Gezi customs terminal today. Another 72 heavy-duty trucks will be released over the next seven days, followed by an additional 24," Papoyan said.
According to him, the Armenian side will ensure the unimpeded transit of trucks loaded with bottled cognac to Georgia. "An agreement was also reached on organizing the process of exporting Armenian bottled cognac from now on under mutually acceptable and predictable terms. Details on the results of the negotiations and further steps will be presented to the business community in due course," the official added.
