
ArmInfo.During a regular session on June 26,, the Government of Armenia approved the proposal to sign an agreement on economic partnership between the EAEU and its member states and the UAE.
The purpose of the Agreement is to liberalize and simplify trade in goods between the parties, including reducing tariff and non-tariff barriers, supporting trade and economic cooperation between the parties, and encouraging trade expansion between the parties. Particular attention in the Agreement is paid to the interaction of small and medium-sized businesses, as well as obligations to promptly inform business entities about the opportunities created by the Agreement and the applicable rules. As a result of the Agreement, EAEU member states receive preferential access conditions for 86% of the product range, with 98% export coverage to the United Arab Emirates for the Eurasian Economic Union.
The Agreement also includes attached lists outlining tariff preferences for specific products. The proposals submitted by the Armenian side mainly include those products that are of primary interest for the export of the Republic of Armenia. As for agricultural products, the proposals submitted by the Armenian side mainly include those products that are of primary interest for the export of the Republic of Armenia, in particular: other fresh fruits, including strawberries, wild strawberries, etc., lactose, fresh tomatoes, fruit juices, honey, jams, mineral water with sugar, live plants, apples, apricots, sauces, etc. The selection of industrial products was also carried out according to the above-mentioned principle and includes such types of products as aluminum foil, aluminum alloys, medical devices, radio-electronic equipment, other furniture, radio broadcasting equipment, etc.
