ArmInfo. The EU is ready to strengthen technological cooperation with Armenia through concrete steps, as stated by EU Ambassador to Armenia Vassilis Maragos during a meeting with the Minister of High-Tech Industry of Armenia, Mkhitar Hayrapetyan.
During the meeting, the parties discussed Armenia's participation in the EU4Innovation East regional initiative and the potential for assisting in enhancing Armenia's innovation ecosystem. As reported by the press service of the Ministry of High-Tech Industry, they pointed out the need to continue mutually beneficial cooperation in order to stimulate innovation, ensure sustainable development, increase the visibility of the technological sector of Armenia in the context of expanding international cooperation, and attract investment.
During the meeting, Minister Hayrapetyan noted that one of the priorities of the Armenian government is to make Armenia a regional technology hub, which coincides with the goal of EU-Armenia cooperation within the framework of the EU4Innovation East initiative. He also pointed out the importance of involving leading EU technology companies in the technological ecosystem of Armenia. The head of the department referred to the possibilities of developing mutually beneficial cooperation in the context of scientific, technical and experimental developments. In this regard, particular importance was attached to the development of relevant infrastructure, as well as the expansion of the use of artificial intelligence (AI).
