ArmInfo. For the past three days, Vanadzor has brought together the Armenian high-tech community on one platform, thereby securing its place in the country's technological agenda. From July 4 to 6, the largest IT event, TechWeek 2025, took place in the heart of the Lori region traditionally outside the capital.
As a co-organizer of the event, Zealous's financial director Spartak Kyureghyan told journalists, that TechWeek 2025 kicked off with three key events at once - a conference featuring over 60 speakers, including leading industry leaders in Armenia and the launch of an educational EXPO, showcasing educational institutions with representative offices in the Lori region (Teach for Armenia, Azatazen, Armath, etc.). These two events took place at the Charles Aznavour Palace of Culture. At the same time, the Vanadzor Technology Center hosted a hackathon called DevHacks, which, according to Kyureghyan, brought together about 260 young people in 68 teams. The hackathon lasted 48 hours and during which its participants did not sleep in order to have time to present their innovative solutions to the jury.
The next day was marked by the Wings Innovative Ideas Competition, aimed at promoting the socio- economic development of the Lori region. A total of 44 projects were presented, from which the jury selected the 7 best. Additionally, TechWeek guests heard speeches and panel discussions on current topics related to crypto assets, education, fintech, the technological ecosystem, and more. Industry experts, opinion leaders, investors, and representatives of technology companies participated in these discussions. On the final day at the Palace of Culture, in addition to panel discussions and speeches, the results were traditionally summed up and the winners of DevHacks (prize fund - $15 thousand for 1st, 2nd and 3rd places, organized by Layerswap) and Wings (prize fund of $5 thousand for 1st, 2nd and 3rd places and 4 special prizes, organized by BANA Business Angel Network) were determined.
At the end of the event, the organizers announced that the next location for TechWeek-2026 would be the city of Goris. Traditionally, the entire TechWeek organizational team, including ambassadors, jury members, and volunteers performed the Armenian folk dance kochari on stage, which has already become a symbol of unity and the end of the event. Note that the initiators of Tech Week Vanadzor were TCF, Zealous and the Union of Advanced Technology Enterprises (UATE).
