
ArmInfo. From July 11 to 13, 99 trucks with liquefied gas entered Armenia. Armenian Minister of Economy Gevorg Papoyan shared this information on his Facebook page. It was previously reported in Armenian media that more than 50 trucks with liquefied gas were unable to pass through the Stepantsminda checkpoint (Upper Lars checkpoint) into Armenia due to new restrictions imposed by the Georgian customs service. As the drivers reported at the time, the authorized bodies of Georgia did not provide specific reasons and official explanations for this decision.
Note that according to the latest data from the Customs Service of Armenia, in the first half of 2024, liquefied gas supplies to Armenia increased by 63.2% - to 98.5 thousand tons, with a 62% increase in customs value to $ 29.7 million. The share of Russian liquefied gas accounted for 98.2% or over 96,793 thousand tons, with an annual increase in volume by 71.2% and a 71.5% in customs value to $ 28.9 million.
