Economist on flower producers` issues: The Armenian government is  caught up in geopolitical games, with repercussions  ultimately  impacting the country`s citizens

ArmInfo.  The current leadership, driven by a mania to maintain power at all costs, is caught up in complex geopolitical games, or as the people say, "threw a barbell on its leg", the consequences of which are and will be borne by the citizens of Armenia, as stated by Tadevos Avetisyan, an economist and deputy from the "Armenia" faction, while discussing the ban on the  export of flowers from Armenia to Russia.

As Avetisyan emphasized, instead of looking for the true reasons for  what is happening, the current leadership prefers to shift  responsibility to others. "The farmers are at fault for not following  sanitary rules.  Nature disasters are to blame. The Russian or  Georgian sides are responsible for not fulfilling their obligations,  and so on. In this case, what else can the "poor" government do?" the  MP asked rhetorically.  He pointed out that despite assistance to  farmers in the form of preferential loans for the construction of  greenhouses, serious problems with the export of agricultural  products persist.

The MP noted that agriculture is currently in a state of  "free fall"  due to the threat to agricultural exports.  He is confident that the  consequences of this situation are long-term and irreversible. In  this vein, Avetisyan recalled that the export difficulties have led  to a 14.1% decrease in industrial production volume from January-May  of this year.  "Thus, the life of people from socially vulnerable  groups, comprising approximately 40% of the population of Armenia,  the majority of whom are rural residents, has been steadily  deteriorating over the past seven years of this government's rule,"  the MP concluded.
