ArmInfo. Armenia and Russia have discussed compliance issues with phytosanitary requirements for deliveries of Armenian flowers to the Russian Federation, as stated in the official statement from Rosselkhoznadzor, referencing the video conference at the request of the Armenian side between Deputy Head of Rosselkhoznadzor Yulia Shvabauskene and Head of the Food Safety Inspectorate of Armenia, Tigran Petrosyan.
During the discussions, Yulia Shvabauskene once emphasized to her Armenian colleagues the importance of importing flowers to Russia that meet EAEU standards, with an established phytosanitary status, free from quarantine objects included in the EAEU list, and be accompanied phytocertificates confirming their origin. Additionally, Rosselkhoznadzor is still waiting for information previously requested from the Armenian side. The Russian supervisory authority also requested that all shipped products be accompanied by appropriate markings indicating the country of origin.
It is reported that following the meeting, the parties agreed to continue a constructive dialogue on the import of flower products from Armenia to Russia. The source noted that since June 27, Rosselkhoznadzor has been providing access to Russia for cut flowers and buds originating from Armenia and sent from production sites that guarantee traceability procedures.
Currently, according to the results of video inspections, roses from 8 producer-exporters and gerberas from 1 producer-exporter are being supplied from Armenia to Russia under the guarantees of the NPPO (National Plant Protection Organization). The decision was made as a result of joint efforts with the Food Safety Inspectorate of the Republic to verify the traceability and quality of flower products.
