ArmInfo. Construction of a railway through Meghri requires huge financial investments, as stated by RA Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan during a press conference on July 16.
According to him, there is road and air communication through Meghri, but no railway. Even in Soviet times, communication was provided through the railway via the territory of Nakhichevan. Today, the reality is such, that it is necessary to use the capabilities of this road, Pashinyan continued emphasizing the need to focus on road and rail communication from Armenia to Armenia. This issue is currently under discussion and is one of the most important items on the government agenda.
