South Caucasus Railway modernizing `passenger` infrastructure

ArmInfo. The South Caucasus Railways (SCR) company has updated a number of passenger infrastructure facilities in the midst of the summer passenger transportation season, the company's press service reports. The modernization program is aimed at improving the level of services provided.

In particular, the tiled pavement of the platform of the Yerevan  railway station, as well as the Araks and Aragats stations, was  replaced.

The Artashat bus stop platform in the Armavir region has been  completely reconstructed. A toilet for people with disabilities has  appeared in the Yerevan railway station building.

"This year, for the purpose of modernization and repair, we selected  a number of infrastructure facilities that were most in need of  renovation and reconstruction. In doing so, we were guided, among  other things, by feedback from our passengers, indicating the need  for one or another renovation. The program for the renovation and  overhaul of passenger infrastructure will continue next year.

Preliminary, we will carry out repair work at five stations, which is  generally aimed at improving the convenience of using the company's  infrastructure," said Grant Mikaelyan, head of the South Caucasus  Railway Passenger Directorate.

The report notes that in the first half of 2025, 233.5 thousand  passengers used South Caucasus Railway trains in domestic and  interstate traffic.
