ArmInfo. As of July 23, Armenia supplied 103.4 thousand tons of fruit and vegetable products to Russia, which is almost one and a half times more than in the same period last year (69.6 thousand tons). This was reported by Interfak with reference to Rosselkhoznadzor.
The head of the service, Sergey Dankvert, held a meeting with the head of the Food Safety Inspectorate of Armenia, Tigran Petrosyan.
Rosselkhoznadzor also noted an increase in the supply of cut flowers from Armenia. Since the beginning of the year, over 71.1 million pieces have been supplied, which is 47% more than in the same period of 2024 (48.5 million pieces). Over the entire last year, 84.4 million pieces of flower products were shipped.
The increase in supplies led to the introduction of a new procedure for the import of cut flowers and buds from Armenia from June 27. The import of flower products became possible only from production sites that ensure traceability throughout the entire chain - from cultivation to sale. Rosselkhoznadzor then noted that the analysis of the information provided by the competent agency of Armenia showed that "the Armenian origin of flower products supplied to Russia is not traceable", this may indicate the supply of products with an uncertain status, including dangerous ones.
According to the press release, at the meeting "the parties agreed on the need to comply with the phytosanitary requirements of the EAEU when supplying products, and also discussed in more detail the procedure for admitting flowers to Russia." Petrosyan assured that the Russian market is of great importance for Armenia and guaranteed that the competent agency of the republic will comply with the requirements of the EAEU when exporting goods, the document notes.
Rosselkhoznadzor is conducting an audit of greenhouses in Armenia. The agency will inspect some of the enterprises, other producers - the Armenian service independently with the subsequent provision of appropriate guarantees. As a result of the joint work, 14 producers of flower products were admitted to the Russian market under the guarantees of their Armenian colleagues.
As reported by Rosselkhoznadzor, Dankvert also noted the importance and necessity of joint work on developing a single information space between states in modern conditions, in particular, on the integration of information systems in the field of phytosanitary to ensure traceability of the movement of goods.
The meeting was attended by the Minister of Industry and Agro-Industrial Complex of the EEC Goar Barseghyan.
