ArmInfo. The only solution to most of the problems in the regions of Armenia is the restoration of industry. This opinion was expressed in a new video address by Narek Karapetyan, the first vice-president of the Tashir Group of Companies and Chairman of the Board of Directors of Electric Networks of Armenia CJSC.
He presented the plans of a new political force founded by businessman Samvel Karapetyan, aimed at overcoming the decrease in population in large regions of Armenia, primarily in Vanadzor. According to him, Vanadzor, the third largest city of Armenia, is a good example of how the economic policies pursued by the current government of Armenia over the past seven years have affected people's lives, and what the consequences will be if the people do not choose a different, namely professional, path of economic management. As Karapetyan noted in this regard, in 1988-1989 the city's population reached 160-170 thousand people. Meanwhile, today it has decreased to 77,000 people, that is, the population has decreased more than twice.
Meanwhile, as the first vice-president of the Tashir group of companies pointed out, the Armenian authorities have only focused on constructing and repairing of roads and educational institutions for 7 years. He explained that for the real revival of Armenia, it is necessary to understand that their main problem is the lack of jobs, for the appearance of which, according to him, the political force created by Karapetyan is going to offer a new path of development. "Thus, our first proposal is to invest in public- private enterprises and restore, for example, a fertilizer plant. Our neighbor, Georgia, receiving equipment from Armenia, today, in fact, produces fertilizers that are bought by residents of our villages. We propose to restore the work of the Vanadzor chemical fertilizer plant, which will allow us to no longer import fertilizers from Georgia or Iran," Karapetyan emphasized.
Touching on the second proposal, he said that it involves investments. Particularly, it is about the construction of a large oil refinery in the country. In conclusion, Karapetyan explained why it is their political force that will be able to implement these two projects in Armenia. He noted that today the person responsible for the Armenian economy, in fact, has no experience in managing industrial institutions. "We have gone through this path and understand how exactly all this can be implemented: we know how to attract funds and how to build it all," Karapetyan assured. According to him, their political force is confident in its capabilities and knows how to implement all of the above. However, he pointed out that the choice is up to the people of Armenia, whom they will choose: those who only talk but do nothing, or those who are ready and able to spend efforts to achieve real results.
