Armenia`s trade nearly hit 3 trillion drams in revenue in the first  half of the year

ArmInfo.  In the first half of 2025, Armenia's  trade sector revenue slowed in annual growth from 22.9% to 3.9%, exceeding 2.9 trillion drams ($7.5 billion).   According to data from the Statistical Committee of the Republic of  Armenia, trade turnover in Armenia increased by 6.2%  in June of this  year, totaling 549.3 billion drams ($1.4 billion).

Specifically, the dynamics of the trade sector was affected by the  slowdown in the growth rate of wholesale trade from 32.5% to 3.4%,  with revenues reaching 1.9 trillion drams. Retail trade also slowed  down in growth from 10.5% to 4.6%, providing revenue of 902.2 billion  drams.

In the retail trade structure, shops (including supermarkets)  generate the largest turnover,- 83.2% or 750.4 billion drams (with an  annual growth of 3.9%). Other retail facilities contribute 11.2% or  100.6 billion drams (with an annual growth of 11.7%), followed by  consumer goods markets - 3.5% or 32 billion (with an annual growth of  4.3%), kiosks - 1.2% or 11.4 billion (with an annual growth of 1.4%)  and agricultural markets - 0.9% or 7.7 billion (with an annual growth  of 4.8%). The volume of purchase/sale of cars in the first half of  2025 saw a reversal  in annual dynamics from 8.7% decline to 8.5%  growth, amounting to 117.6 billion drams.  In the  total trade  turnover of Armenia, wholesale trade dominates - 65.5%, followed by  retail - 30.5%, with the remaining 4%  attribute to car  purchases/sales.  Note that the average exchange rate of the dram  against the US dollar in January-June 2025 was AMD 391.31 / $ 1, and  in June - AMD 384.22  / $ 1.
