In the first half of the year, Armenia`s natural population growth decreased by 37.3%

ArmInfo. In Armenia, 14,609 children were born in the first half of 2025, which is 6.4% lower than the same period last year. The birth rate per 1000 inhabitants for the reporting period was 9.6 per mille, compared to 10.4 per mille the previous year, as evidenced by data from the Statistical Committee of the Republic of Armenia.

During the same period, 13,012 people died in Armenia,  showing a decrease  of 0.4% compared to the previous year. The death rate in the country was 8.5 per mille, down from 8.7 per mille in the same period of 2024. As a result, the natural population growth was only 1,597 people, a decrease of 37.3% from the previous year. Specifically, the natural population growth rate for the first half of 2025 was 1.1 per thousand (compared to 1.7 per thousand a year ago).
