
ArmInfo.In 2024, Armenia reduced its aluminum foil exports by 20% (compared to a 22.5% decline in 2023), resulting in a supply volume of 20.3 thousand tons. According to data from the Customs Service of the Republic of Armenia, the customs value of exported aluminum foil also decreased by 21.4% to $68.6 million.
The main volume of exports went to Germany (26.7%) and Poland (22.1%), followed by the Netherlands (14.3%), Italy (13.2%), Spain (7.1%), France (6.5%), Russia (4.3%), Slovenia (2.1%), the Czech Republic (2%), the United Kingdom (0.7%), and Greece (0.6%). Smaller volumes were exported to Albania, Belgium, Georgia, Hungary, Kazakhstan and Belarus. The volume of imported foil increased slightly - by 0.01% (compared to a decline of 3.5% in 2023), totaling 1.9 thousand tons, with a decrease in customs value by 0.1% - to $ 8.9 million. Foil imports were primarily from Greece (63%), the Russian Federation (17.6%), and China (10.3%). The remaining imports were from Ukraine, Poland, Lebanon, Kazakhstan, Iran, Italy, the UAE, Germany, Turkey, and Spain. According to the Statistical Committee of the Republic of Armenia, in 2024, aluminum foil production in Armenia decreased by 23.3%, amounting to 19.7 thousand tons. Note that the Armenal plant was the sole foil exporter in Armenia.
