Armenia becoming from labor-exporting country to destination for   migrants: Pashinyan

ArmInfo. Armenia is transitioning from a country that sends out labor migrants to a country that is now attracting migrants. Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan expressed this  viewpoint during a government meeting on August 21. ,  he said.

According to Pashinyan, there are still people leaving to work in  other countries. But, as can be seen even with the untrained eye,  that the majority of those coming to Armenia as labor migrants.  People from other countries are starting to arrive in the country  attracted by employment opportunities, and locals from rural areas  who traditionally sought work elsewhere, are now finding employment  within Armenia, he added.

Note that according to the Tourism Committee, in the first half of  2025, the number of tourist visits exceeded 907.130 compared to  946.100 in January-June 2024. According to the Statistics Committee,  in the first quarter of 2025, 952.300 citizens entered Armenia from  foreign countries, which is 3% higher than the previous year. 958.900  citizens left Armenia during this period, showing an annual growth of  3.7%. As a result, the balance of entry and exit became negative,  totaling 6,570 people (compared to a positive 283 people a year  earlier). In the first quarter of 2025, 438.300 citizens of Armenia  entered Armenia (an annual growth of 4%), and 429.500 left (an annual  growth of 4.3%). This is resulted in a positive balance of entries  and exits  of 8,809 people, which is 8.7% lower than the previous  year.
