ArmInfo. Trade between Russia and Armenia has significantly dropped, it is expected that it will be reduced by half by the end of the year, as stated by Deputy Prime Minister of the Russian Federation Alexey Overchuk to journalists during the Eastern Economic Forum session.
Speaking about trade between Armenia and the Russian Federation, he stated that it has significantly decreased. "We expect that by the end of the year it will be reduced by half compared to last year. If last year it was 12.4 billion dollars, then this year it will probably be around six, maybe a little more," Overchuk said, Russian media report.
According to the RA Statistical Committee, Russia maintains its leadership in both total foreign trade turnover and imports. Specifically, the volume of imports between Armenia and Russia in 2024 exceeded $9.2 billion, increasing by 2.1 times. The volume of exports amounted to $3.2 billion, decreasing by 10.7%. As a result, the foreign trade turnover between Armenia and the Russian Federation reached $12.4 billion, increasing by 56.5%, with Russia's share in Armenia's total foreign trade turnover rising from 37.2% to 41.1% in 2024. In 2025, the dynamics began to deteriorate. In the first half of the year, the foreign trade turnover between Armenia and Russia amounted to $3.4 billion, with an annual decline of 54.8% (compared to significant growth a year ago). Imports dynamics worsened significantly, with a 66.3% decline ($2.1 billion), while exports continued to decline, slowing down from 21.1% to 6.2% ( $1.3 billion).
