
ArmInfo. The State Revenue Committee (SRC) of Armenia has revealed numerous cases of counterfeit vodka being sold at prices below cost and market prices.
According to the information, in the course of implementing the information received about the distribution of counterfeit vodka in the Republic of Armenia at prices below cost and market prices, SRC employees conducted large-scale operational and investigative measures in the capital and various regions of the republic to identify economic entities operating under criminal schemes in the sphere of production and sale of alcoholic beverages.
As a result, 1,703 bottles of counterfeit vodka were found in 47 retail outlets, at prices below cost and market prices, with obviously counterfeit excise stamps or identification marks circulating in the shadow economy. The entire batch was withdrawn from circulation. Cases of multiple use of the same identification marks were also revealed. All the circumstances of this crime, the full circle of persons who participated in the groups are being investigated.
It is noted that based on the reports submitted on the predicate crime, in 2025 the Investigative Committee has already initiated criminal cases on 14 similar cases.
"It is important that before purchasing alcoholic beverages at retail outlets, consumers pay attention to the selling prices of similar drinks, scan control (identification) marks using the E-MARK application to make sure that the product is subject to sale, and do not purchase alcoholic beverages of unknown origin," the State Revenue Committee said in a statement.
