ArmInfo. The construction of the Trump Road (TRIPP - Trump International Route of Peace and Prosperity) will contribute to the formation of a common transport framework for Eurasia. A similar opinion was voiced in an interview with TASS by Russian Deputy Prime Minister Alexei Overchuk, answering the question of whether this route would affect Russia's interests.
"And if such a road appears, it will, among other things, contribute to Armenia's connection with Russia," he said. Referring to the assessments of the Russian side, the Deputy Prime Minister emphasized that this route will probably become the main route for transporting goods between Armenia and Russia.
"At the same time, Overchuk noted that this issue was discussed both during his recent trip to Yerevan and during meetings with Azerbaijani colleagues in Astrakhan. "We have an understanding of how this will be," he emphasized.
In early August, at the White House, Armenia and Azerbaijan reaffirmed the importance of opening communications between the two countries for domestic, bilateral, and international travel to promote peace, stability, and prosperity in the region and its neighbors based on respect for the sovereignty, territorial integrity, and jurisdiction of states. These efforts include opening a direct connection between the mainland of Azerbaijan and Nakhichevan through Armenia.
"Armenia will work with the United States and jointly identified third parties to develop a framework for the Trump International Road for Peace and Prosperity (TRIPP) connection project in Armenia. We reaffirm our commitment to continue our efforts in good faith to achieve this goal as soon as possible," the trilateral declaration says.
