ArmInfo. A meeting with the World Bank delegation led by the heads of the WB working group Arman Vatyan and Khuram Faruk was held at the Ministry of High- Tech Industry.
According to the press service of the department, the latter was held to discuss issues related to the Fourth Public Sector Modernization Program (PSMP4) and ensuring digitalization opportunities in the South Caucasus. The parties also discussed the process of developing digital infrastructure, cybersecurity, data mapping and classification, the possibility of using cloud services, as well as further steps planned for the effective implementation of the program.
First Deputy Minister Gevorg Mantashyan highly appreciated the ongoing cooperation with the World Bank, emphasizing the importance of the program for improving the efficiency of the public sector and promoting digitalization processes.
On May 13, 2022, the Government of Armenia approved, without discussion, the draft law of the Republic of Armenia on ratification of the loan agreement . Within the framework of this agreement, the World Bank will provide Armenia with a loan of 26.5 million euros to improve the public administration system.
The goal of the 4th Public Sector Modernization Program is to promote the process of modernization of the public administration system through continuous civil service reforms, digitalization of services provided by the state and local governments, and the introduction of individual e-government systems.
As a result of the modernization of a wide range of public services, it is planned to increase the efficiency of the provided public services, their accessibility for businesses, citizens, contributing to inclusive economic growth.
