Only 15% of declarants in Armenia have filled out income  declarations. Deadline for filing- November 1

ArmInfo. As of September 11, only 15% of potential declarants have reported their income for 2024 to the tax office, as stated by Eduard Hakobyan, Chairman of the State Revenue Committee of Armenia, during a session in parliament.

"At the moment, about 92 thousand citizens have filled out  declarations, which is about 15% of the expected number by November  1,"  Hakobyan said. Those who do not fill them out will be fined in  accordance with the law. First, a warning will be issued, then a  fine, after which the fine will double, he noted.

The head of the SRC urged all citizens to be transparent and fill out  declarations. "The State Revenue Committee is already filling out a  huge amount of information in these declarations. In other words, we  are filling out a fairly large amount of information that we have on  behalf of our citizens. All they have to do is look through this  declaration and simply fill in the blanks, indicating income that we  have no idea about," Hakobyan said.

When asked whether the "amnesty" would be applied to citizens who  failed to file a declaration on time, the chief tax officer indicated  that more than 600,000 citizens have already received ID cards  (needed for identification in the State Revenue Committee system when  filling out a declaration). Additionally, the law allows citizens to  fill out declarations after receiving an ID card without consequences  for themselves, he added.

Note that the implementation of the Universal Declaration of Income  for all citizens-residents began in 2023. The process is organized in  three stages, with the circle of persons required to submit a  declaration increasing each year. The implementation of the system  will be completed in 2025.
