ArmInfo. Trump Road has actually reached the practical stage. This was reported by Economy Minister Gevorg Parpoyan in an interview with the state agency Armenpress.
He noted that visits of various delegations, including American and Turkish ones, are expected in the coming days. The Minister also touched upon the visit to Armenia of the Turkish government's special representative for Armenian-Turkish relations, Serdar Kilic. "Never in the history of Armenia has there been such a thing as a delegation from Turkey arriving in Armenia, and an American delegation presenting a large investment project for the construction of a railway and a road through the territory of Armenia. That is, in fact, we have reached the practical stage," Parpoyan noted.
As a result of the project's implementation, according to him, Armenia will become an international transport hub. In addition to the economic effect, the state will also receive other benefits. In particular, referring to the results of the study, the Minister noted that as a result of unblocking the roads, the prices of imported goods, which are currently expensive due to logistical problems, will decrease. "These are all important issues that need to be addressed," he emphasized.
Recall that in early August, during a trilateral meeting in Washington, Prime Minister of the Republic of Armenia Nikol Pashinyan, President of the United States of America Donald Trump and President of the Republic of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev signed a joint declaration.
This document also provides for the launch of the Trump Route for International Peace and Prosperity (TRIPP) communications program in the Republic of Armenia.
"We reaffirmed the importance of opening communications between the two countries for domestic, bilateral and international transportation based on respect for the sovereignty, territorial integrity and jurisdiction of states in order to promote peace, stability and prosperity in the region and its environs. These efforts will include unimpeded communication between the main part of the Republic of Azerbaijan and the Nakhchivan Autonomous Republic through the territory of the Republic of Armenia, with mutual benefit from international and internal communications for the Republic of Armenia," the declaration says.
