Armenia moved up 4 positions in Global Innovation Index,  demonstrating its growing role in  global innovation landscape -  Papoyan

ArmInfo.In the Global Innovation Index (GII) report, published by the World Intellectual Property Organization (WIPO) on September 16, 2025, Armenia ranked 59th out of 139 countries. RA Minister of Economy Gevorg Papoyan  shared this information on his Facebook page.

"Compared to 2024, progress has been recorded - up 4 positions. This  progress demonstrates Armenia's growing role in the global innovation  environment and reflects the joint efforts of the government, private  sector, and academic circles.

Armenia ranks 11th among 36 upper-middle-income countries." Compared  to the previous year, Armenia has made progress in "Business  Development", "Infrastructure", and "Institutions"," the Minister of  Economy wrote.

It's worth noting that Armenia has outperformed Azerbaijan (94) and  Iran (70), but trailed behind Russia (51), Georgia (56), and Turkey  (43).  Switzerland, as in the previous year, achieved the best result  in the 2025 ranking. Sweden, the United States, the Republic of  Korea, and Singapore also rounded out the top five. Mali, Venezuela,  Congo, and Angola were the bottom performers, with Niger ranking  last.
