Armenia takes part in Tourism Standards International Conference in  Tbilisi

ArmInfo. Armenia participated for the first time in the Tourism Standards  International Conference, organized by the Georgian Tourism  Association (GTA) in Tbilisi.

The conference, held for the seventh year in a row, serves as a  discussion platform designed to bring together tourism industry  specialists from around the world to exchange experiences and  establish international cooperation.

The Armenian delegation was represented by Lusine Gevorgyan, Head of  the Armenian Tourism Committee, and the Green Rock Foundation, which  presented the Meet Dilijan initiative to the Georgian side.

The initiative highlights Dilijan's unique appeal as a leading  tourist destination, with the aim of increasing its visibility in the  Georgian market and promoting tourism development in the city.

In her speech, Lusine Gevorgyan emphasized that significant  investments will be made in the development of Dilijan's  infrastructure. As a result, she expressed confidence that Dilijan  will become an important regional hub and that Georgian tourists will  be able to discover a completely new side of the city.

As a reminder, the World Bank has launched a $100 million Tourism  Development and Regional Infrastructure Improvement Program (TRIP) in  Armenia. The program will be used to create 10 tourism clusters,  including in such towns as Dilijan, Areni, Jermuk, Goris, Dvin,  Gyumri, Aparan, Yeghegis, Sevan, and others. The program will be  implemented from 2025 to 2029. This summer, it was announced that a  cable car will be built in Dilijan as part of this program.

According to the Armenian Ministry of Economy, Dilijan is visited by  250,000 people annually.

According to the data of the Statistical Committee of the Republic of  Armenia, 128,240 tourists from Georgia visited Armenia in  January-June 2025, which is 1% higher than the same period last year.
