ArmInfo.There will be no significant issues with the opening of the Armenian-Turkish border, as stated by Minister of Economy Gevorg Papoyan during a session of the Parliamentary Standing Committee on Regional and Eurasian Integration.
However, he did not rule out the possibility of encountering some difficulties with certain goods. Papoyan stated that all of these issues, in terms of volumes, finances, and resources, are manageable and fall within the scope of the ministry's decisions. Specifically, he noted that decisions can be made without causing political or other problems. Additionally, the ministry can develop state support programs for specific cases.
"That is, when you gain something big, you can lose something small," the Minister of Economy said. He also assured the public that they would not experience any negative effects thanks to the existing tools, mechanisms, and financial resources available to address potential issues. When asked by the opposition parliamentarian about the basis of calculations, Papoyan simply recommended referring to his research, pointing to his articles in international scientific journals regarding the opening of borders with Turkey and Azerbaijan. He clarified that the article was written in his capacity as Gevorg Papoyan, an associate professor at Yerevan State University, and not as a representative of the Economy Ministry.
