ArmInfo.A key element of cooperation between EAEU countries is the transport and logistics sector, with its diversification, providing additional impetus to the export of goods to third countries and the growth of trade turnover within the Union, as stated by the RA Deputy Prime Minister, Mher Grigoryan, during the Eurasian Intergovernmental Council Session.
He noted that the country is committed to the regional connectivity agenda and attaches particular importance to cooperation with all EAEU member states in this area. "All of Armenia's infrastructure projects are aimed at creating reliable and interconnected transport routes based on full respect for the sovereignty and jurisdiction of states, as well as the principles of equality and reciprocity," Grigoryan said. In his speech, Grigoryan noted that the rapidly changing geopolitical situation requires flexibility and a prompt adaptation of institutions and mechanisms to new realities. "The sustainability of the Union largely depends on the strategic decisions made today. Trade and economic integration is a dynamic process that requires constant modernization and response to new challenges," he emphasized.
Grigoryan also addressed several pressing issues. He emphasized the importance of food security for all EAEU countries. "Ensuring an uninterrupted supply of high-quality food to the population is one of the main tasks and a crucial element of overall stability. To balance markets and reduce the risk of food shortages, it is necessary to provide the union market with essential agricultural products and food," the Deputy Prime Minister noted.
He also focused on expanding industrial cooperation, calling it a real opportunity for development, particularly in terms of enhancing innovation, by leveraging the strengths of each state's industrial potential. He recalled that the EAEU has already established a new financial support mechanism for industrial cooperation, stating "we believe this mechanism will allow for genuine support for enterprises ready to produce complex, high-tech products with high added value." Grigoryan also discussed the further development of common electricity and energy markets based on non-discriminatory principles.
This should become one of the foundations for ensuring equal economic conditions for all EAEU member states. "We believe that meeting the domestic needs of states for petroleum products should be a priority as a prerequisite for the formation of common markets," the Deputy Prime Minister stated.
"The Republic of Armenia views the integrated information system as the technological foundation for the effective functioning of the EAEU. Currently, the system is implementing several processes that are fully operational or in the implementation phase. Armenia views e-commerce as a strategic priority. We support the initiative to conclude an e-commerce agreement within the EAEU as a key step toward creating a single e-commerce market. We believe it is important to establish unified approaches to legal regulation, digital identification, cross-border document flow, data exchange, and mutual recognition of electronic trust documents. Given the growth of digital threats, special attention must also be paid to cybersecurity, data protection, and rapid threat response mechanisms, " Grigoryan emphasized.
